"Janet Cannon--a unique voice in modern American poetry.  A 100% woman's voice, the honest and true interior rhythms of uncensored thought--often horrified by the tortured humanity she witnesses every day.  The extraordinary eyes of social conscience, which see an America far different from the one portrayed in history books or the halls of Congress, or promulgated by Mr. Trump's White House. This is the America most of us, unfortunately, live in--as only a great poet can tell it."
                                                                          --Gerald Nicosia
