Uncle's South China Sea Blue Nightmare by lamont b steptoe
Vietnam War collection by renowned Philadelphia poet lamont b. steptoe. Perfect-bound. 61 pages.
Remarkable and different. It has grace, certainly but also a wiry strength and vivacity most appealing.
- Gwendolyn Brooks
This is poetry that sears with rawness and sings with its incantatory rhythms. He makes understandable some of what Tom Hayden calls the 'inner reality of Vietnam.' Steptoe's work will move many and help others to feel something of the anguish he feels in and for society.
- Dennis Brutus
[Lamont Steptoe is] a most valuable brother/witness.
- James Baldwin
