The sun traces the face’s shadows with a lover’s weathered kiss. Each sense confounds its original calling. Faces are seen through their voices. Food offers flavor only when another eats. Smell, more than cold, forecasts the coming of snow. Gnarled fingers master the gentlest caresses, the bowed head maps the predictable patterns of chaos.
